About Us

The Buddy Company, LLC is a veteran-owned independent software and artificial intelligence development studio based in Vacaville, California. Founded on the principle that technology should serve people with clarity and purpose, we build intuitive mobile utilities and applied AI tools designed to act as dependable digital companions for everyday users.

Our Founder & Mission of Continued Service

The Buddy Company was founded by Matthew Smith, a proud United States Marine Corps veteran.

In the Marine Corps, the mission is centered on discipline, readiness, and unwavering dedication to the person beside you. While active military service eventually concludes, the core calling to serve others does not stop at the uniform. Today, that dedication continues through software engineering.

We take that same standard of purpose, integrity, and operational focus to solve everyday friction points for real people. Whether navigating complex public records, managing family routines, or needing rapid, dependable tools during urgent moments, our mission is to deliver accessible technology that genuinely lends a helping hand.
